Becoming Home :)

We just got home from our "Life Group Launch Party." We had a good ol' New Orleans shrimp boil, (my first actually) with shrimp, potatoes, onions, garlic, and mushrooms. It was pretty delicious I'd have to say, even though shrimp has never been my thing. Starting tomorrow night Chase and I will be leading a new Life Group here in N.O., and so tonight was the celebration of that. A Life Group is ultimately a small group (10-15 people) which meets once a week to discuss the previous week's sermon, ask questions, talk things through and just pray for and encourage one another.

Tonight was a good night. We met some new people, but at the same time were surrounded by friends. I am so thankful that God has led us to, and allowed us to be a part of, Celebration Church. It really is such a blessing to have found a place where we can belong, serve others, and be served ourselves. I guess tonight is the first night, since we have been in N.O., that I actually felt like I belonged. Tonight I genuinely felt like I was in a place where I had friends to just laugh and hang out with, to eat good food with and talk to ... and for this I am so very thankful.
New Orleans is beginning to become our home. Making friends and building relationships is such a key element, at least for me, and tonight was a great night for just that.

I feel the same way! The party was a great success. I felt that relationships were strengthened. Matt and I are so happy that we have a place to belong too!
