I am thankful to live in America. Chase and I just recently, due to our last hurricane evacuation, lost all the food in our fridge and freezer (except for the little bit we were able to take with us in a cooler). Loosing the food would not have been necessarily such a negative thing in and of itself, however, we also lost time on our paychecks at work, as well as money in our account from having to pay for gas to travel. In any case it was taxing on our budgets and a bit frustrating. Yet, as always our God provides.
Last Saturday morning, Chase and I, with a couple of our friends, went to the main conference center here in N.O. and stood in a line, along with about 10,000 other people, and waited to apply to receive food stamps. The wait was about 3 hours (6am-9am), we were eligible and now we will be provided for via the U.S. Government. No other place in the world would be so great as to provide for it's people in such a way. And I appreciate it very much.

Jesus never closes a door without opening another one. But of course you already know this.
